On 9 and 10 October 2025, the Initiative for Development and Cooperation (IDC) organized a Youth Lab for Human Dignity, Equality and Anti-Discrimination as a creative and participatory approach to exploring European and human rights values through art, music and dialogue.
The lab brought together young people from different cultural backgrounds – including migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and returnees in Serbia – to promote empathy, intercultural understanding and social inclusion.
The methodology was based on interactive, non-formal education and creative expression to facilitate the exchange of experiences and mutual learning among the participants. Through interactive workshops and artistic and musical expression, participants reflected on what human dignity, equality and anti-discrimination mean in their lives and communities.
The process encouraged mutual learning, open discussion and creative freedom – using art and music as a means for dialog and connection.
Participants left the program with a deeper awareness and appreciation of European values, more empathy, mutual understanding and a sense of solidarity, as well as concrete creative outcomes – murals and songs symbolizing common human values.
