As part of the professional exchange between Jama Nyeta gGmbH and the Youth Migration Service (JMD) of the Catholic Youth Agency (KJA) in Cologne (Germany), the two project partners jointly organized two inspiring cooperation workshops with their educational teams.
On March 25, 2025 at the CRUX Café in Cologne’s Südstadt district, the first workshop focused on the question of how democratic values can be conveyed in the everyday practice of intercultural youth work. To this end, the experts explored practical methods and dialog approaches to get young people excited about democracy – but also to support them in critically examining current social developments. The focus was on promoting young people’s independence.
The second workshop on April 7, 2025 at the Jama Nyeta premises in Goebenstraße focused on appreciating the intercultural resources of young people with a migrant background. Their perspectives, values and experiences enrich our society – and this is precisely what intercultural youth work builds on. Especially in challenging times for our democracy, we should focus on what unites us: Diversity as strength!
